Top Feeders sit at the top of a storey to feed dry or sugar syrup in winter months, this ensures the bees are well nourished during the harder months when pollen isn’t as prominent.

NEW IMPROVED BEE SAVING DESIGN. With the addition of new locking clips the Beetek Bee Saver now clips securely onto the Beetek Top Feeder. The new design prevents the Bee Saver from working loose, keeping bees out of the syrup and more importantly preventing them from drowning!

HANDY TIP: Studies suggest placement of sugar syrup in hives is best done simultaneously towards the evening to minimize any tendency for bees to rob the hives that are fed; by simultaneously feeding all hives in the area this further lowers the tendency for robbing.

During late winter/early spring you can increase the ratio of Sugar to water (2 to 1 ratio), this ensures the bee colony’s are fully nourished in preparation for the busy summer months. When feeding this way it is important to either use the Bee Saver or other natural resources such as twigs or pebbles – this allows the bees to access the sugar syrup while minimizing drowning.
